The various monitoring parameters have been kept increasing progressively, confirming that there is still an intense emission of gases, volcanic ash and lava fragments from the crater. The ash and gas columns have reached 5000 to 6000 meters above sea level (14604 - 19685 feet), dispersing to distances greater than 40 km in a westerly direction. Ash fall has been reported in communities of San Pedro Yepocapa, Chimaltenango. Using field reports and photographs taken by webcams, it has been possible to count 9 events of greater seismic amplitude that have generated multiple pulses of pyroclastic density currents towards the Seca canyon located on the western flank of the volcano, which have traveled from 5 to 7 kilometers away. This phenomenon represents the greatest threat to the population in communities located at distances of 7 to 10 kilometers from the crater, especially those of the municipality of San Pedro Yepocapa, department of Chimaltenango.
\n
The average seismic amplitude (RSAM) and the thermal radiation generated by recent volcanic material suggest that this activity could be maintained or even increased during the following hours.
